Online Payment Information

Your shopping experience on the Sugar Pine Company website is very important to us. For this reason, we have an online credit card processing system that is secure, safe, and easy to use.

When you are ready to check out, selecting the green "Checkout" button takes you to a screen to enter your shipping information, then you will be asked to enter a credit card number for your transaction. Your credit card information is not kept on file at the Sugar Pine Company or on our web-host servers; it is a one-time only process. Your payment will be authorized by the credit card processor but will not be finalized until a person at The Sugar Pine Company verifies the content of your order (availability, quantity, etc) and in particular the shipping charges (see Shipping section below for details). Once we make necessary adjustments and confirm that the charges are correct, we finalize your payment. The finalized amount, not necessarily the initial online calculation, will be the amount that is charged to your credit card.

Paypal is also available for those who prefer to use a Paypal account. When you are ready to checkout and viewing your shopping cart, select "Check out with PayPal" to use PayPal for payment. The process is the same with PayPal payments- the finalized amount, not necessarily the initial online calculation, will be the amount that is charged.


Shipping Information


Due to the range of items on our website, online we can only estimate shipping. Our estimate takes into account bulky items, mainly yarn, that has high volume and therefore can be expensive to ship.

Thanks to the flexibility of our payment system, we are able to adjust the shipping charge prior to finalizing your payment. So, for example in Canada, an order for 1-2 patterns will initially show a shipping charge of $14.99, but we will adjust the shipping charge to reflect a Lettermail rate closer to $3-6, depending on weight and dimensions. Your final Credit Card or PayPal charge will be for the lower amount. The same process applies to USA shipments.

When possible, we ship Canada Post Lettermail. These are items under 500g and 2cm thick (eg, patterns, 1-2 m of fabric, some kits). Lettermail is based on the weight of the item and we calculate the amount when your order is assembled. Typical charges are $3-6 (in Canada).
For Lettermail orders, tracking is not available. If tracking is required, please specify in the Comments section and we will select the appropriate method.

OTHER INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
Due to the variability of shipping expenses with different items in our online store, orders shipping outside of North America are treated on an individual basis. We will contact you directly once shipping is determined and arrange payment at that time. Charges will not exceed postal rates to any given location, which we can calculate accurately with the item(s) assembled and the shipping address.
