Barbara's Workshops

Responding to the Surface: Nature’s Language
Combine the creative impulse along with one of a kind hand dyed fabrics & nature’s lines & colors to create a powerful fiber piece. Develop a surface design in response to the lines & colour of your fabric which has its own strong voice. In the morning, use visualization to develop a spontaneous design, in response to the fabric. By after-noon, the central design will be satin stitched on the fabric. Decorative threads, machine embroidery & free-form organic quilting lines will add texture to the composition on the 2nd day.
2 days, January 31 + February 1

How to Quilt Like Leonardo De Vinci
Foster greater creativity in your quilt-making, & join Barbara for these 3 days. The book “How to Think Like Leonardo De Vinci” by Michael Gelb, will guide us in developing wonder-ful, unique fiber images. Exercises based on Leonardo’s genius & vision will challenge our creative spirit & take us to an elevated artistic level. Drawing, journaling, fabric, & thread will be our creative tools.
3 days, February 2, 3 & 4
