At The Sugar Pine Company, we are committed to promoting quiltmaking and to encouraging quilters to explore new ideas and techniques. Recognizing a need in Western Canada for excellence in instruction and support for quilters wanting to venture into innovative work, The Sugar Pine Company established  Canadian Rockies Quilt Art Canmore. Running for ten days and featuring six high-caliber instructors, this event features opportunities to learn from internationally-acclaimed quilt artists. Participants travel from around the globe to take part in the outstanding opportunities for instruction and inspiration here in the beautiful Canadian Rockies. 

Quilt Art Canmore is highly regarded by our faculty, who appreciate an extended opportunity to explore subject matter with their students.  Held in 2009 at Rafter Six Ranch Resort, world-famous for its western hospitality, the workshops take place in the Ranch lounge space, dance hall, and restaurant, where we convert the spaces into classrooms and lecture theatres.

Held January 26 to February 4, 2009, the 2009 Conference is the eighth annual, and features workshops with Esterita Austin, Rosemary Eichorn, Valerie Hearder, Barbara Olson, Libby Lehman, and Ann Johnston. Join us for evening guest lectures with our faculty members on slected evenings throughout the event.
