A quilter since age of 13, Cynthia is famous for her realistically detailed pictorial quilts. Using skills she developed as a commercial graphic artist, she creates quilts depicting her favorite subjects: flowers, nature, antiques & architecture. Cynthia's stunning quilts have been winning 1st place awards at national quilting events since 1991 & have graced the pages of many quilting publications. Cynthia’s machine piecing technique, called “Picture Piecing” & using only straight seams, has inspired countless quilters. Cynthia loves to share her technique with quilters & help them create their own stunning, original art quilts.

Picture-Piecing: An Introduction - If you love landscape quilts but not appliqué, this technique class is for you. Get the realistic look of appliqué with straight line sewing. The sewing technique is easy. Cheating is actually encouraged! This innovative technique uses only straight lines and is entirely machine made. You will create Country Road  from a kit in the first part of class. Cynthia will then show you step-by-step how to design your own blocks & quilts using her technique.

Picture-Piecing Your Own Designs - This class includes a combination of learning Cynthia's Picture Piecing technique & discovering how to bring your own landscape design to life. First, learn how easy the sewing technique is while making Split Rail with a kit. After working  through a series of progressive design worksheets, you start translating your own favorite photograph into a quilt. Jam-packed with time-saving techniques, trouble shooting ideas, painting, blocking, & binding techniques.
3 Days, March 12, 13 + 14

5 Day Option - If you select 5 days with Cynthia, you can choose either quilt project & have more time for your own designs.
